LED Lighting
LED lighting is a sustainable, energy-efficient alternative to traditional incandescent or halogen lights. While the initial cost may be slightly higher, the long-term savings make it worthwhile.
LED bulbs, once expensive, have now become more affordable and are expected to keep dropping in price. Some can last up to 50,000 hours, which equates to over five and a half years of continuous use.
The EECA reports that if every New Zealand household switched to LED lighting, it could prevent 82,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions annually—equivalent to the emissions of nearly 34,000 petrol cars.
